The Wedding Cake

Well i finally have the time to upload pictures.

Top Tier - Red Velvet filled with fresh strawberries and strawberry buttercream, covered in teal fondant. Quilting pattern with silver balls.
Middle Tier - Lemon cake, filled with fruit and lemon buttercream covered in white fondant. Teal gerber daisies airbrushed with silver.
Bottom Tier - Vanilla cake with chocolate ganache and chocolate buttercream. Covered in teal fondant with white gerber daisies as an accent and dusted in Silver Dust.

The cake topper was a gift to the bride and groom. I bought these from a company in the States that do custom cake toppers. They turned out beautifully and the bride and groom were happy with it as well.

Any issues with the cake?
-Many especially the fondant. We needed it so much that it was constantly cracking. I have to figure out how to not over knead it especially with the amount of color i was adding.

  4. add shortening. should be soft and supple, sounds like it's becoming dryer as you knead, no? are you using any dry ingredients? icing sugar or cornstarch?
