I've been testing out my flavors for the wedding cake i have coming up in October. Last week i did a lemon cake w/ lemon buttercream. I did however forget the fruit in the middle but that is easy to remember for next time. It doesn't look pretty as it was just a tester and the final results! Everyone was impressed, even myself. I took a vanilla cake recipe i had and added Fresh Lemon juice instead of Vanilla and used Lemon shavings from the actual lemon. As for the buttercream, i made my standard buttercream recipe but used fresh lemon juice instead of the vanilla and the water to give it that thin consistency. The only problem i found was the buttercream was too thin so i may have to not add so much lemon juice to get the right consistency.
